We need to deepen our engagement with platform cooperativism because of its strong connection to the areas of free software and free culture, which have long advocated for ownership of the technologies we use. By converging the communities working with digital platforms with those involved in free software and culture, we politicize technology and recognize its role not just as a neutral tool, but as a critical factor in shaping new work paradigms and a better world. This realization is one of the reasons I am here at this event. I believe we are making progress in fostering dialogues between various stakeholders who share this vision, linking the movement of free technologies and knowledge with the organizational discussions central to platform cooperativism. This event is a vital opportunity to bring together individuals from different regions of Brazil and around the world to engage in these important conversations. We aim to reflect on and perhaps reshape how we can develop these technologies in a way that is fairer and more equitable.
