Hello, this is Dr. Ashraf S, Professor at Digital University, Kerala. I’m delighted to be here at the Roots of Resilience conference. We are currently navigating the era of Web 3.0.2, characterized chiefly by the creator economy. This era’s defining features include decentralized control and distributed ownership, which align seamlessly with the cooperative principles of democratized control. Moreover, inclusion is vital, as the creator economy thrives only when participants are actively involved in managing activities—a hallmark of the Web 3.0 era. We have transitioned from the Web 1.0 and 2.0 phases, where the digital business model was primarily about creators producing for consumers, to a creator-centric economy. Here, creators not only benefit but participate actively, fostering ongoing economic activity through a collective framework where control is democratized. Thus, digital principles and cooperative values are inherently compatible, enhancing each other in this new technological landscape.
