Veronyka “Travahacker” Gimenes is a Brazilian trans hacktivist, programmer, and digital communicator. Since 2008, she has worked with Núcleo Digital, building civic and gov-tech projects for São Paulo City Hall, Brazil’s Ministry of Culture, the Brazilian Bar Association, and the World Bank. Her work supports civil society and public institutions in designing open digital technologies, advancing sovereign AI, and resisting digital colonialism. She founded the Digital Culture House in Porto Alegre and co-founded and directs Código Não Binário, an LGBTQIA+ and anti-colonial tech and rights association. She also co-hosts the queer podcast Entre Amigues. A frequent speaker at TEDx, RightsCon, and Creative Commons, her work has been honored by the World Summit Award, UN-Habitat, and the Favourite Website Awards.
