Bio
Tzu-Yun Wei is a Taiwan-based designer and worker-owner whose practice uses publishing and drawing as forms of play to examine the immediacy, tensions, and attachments of paradoxical identities. They also lead workshops in zine writing and making, helping participants articulate possible and preferred narratives, and explore play as a form of action. Their collaborators have included Pratt Institute, the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Ugly Duckling Presse, the National Taiwan University Art Center, and the Taipei Art Book Fair. As a worker-owner, Wei is a co-founder of Taiwan Design Cooperative CoAssembly and SpOnAcT, a design community garden. Across these roles, they connect creative practice, collective ownership, and participatory learning to imagine more open, collaborative, and self-determined cultural futures.
