Bio

Taru Jain is a Senior Design Researcher at the CommonsTech Foundation for Participatory Technologies, where she contributes to the development of CoRE Stack, a digital commons for natural resource management. Her research examines landscape stewardship in rural India and the relationship between care, technology, and the digital economy. Jain’s work has appeared at leading academic conferences, including CHI, and in The Hindu. She holds a master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction from IIIT Bangalore, where she founded and chaired the ACM SIGCHI Student Chapter to encourage interdisciplinary exchange among engineers and designers. Taru Jain’s broader interests include participatory technology, community governance, and the design of digital infrastructures that support collective stewardship. She also writes and dances.
