Bio

Silva da Costa Botelho has a background in Electric Engineering, Computer Science, and Robotics. She received her undergraduate degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS in 1991, and later completed her Master’s degree in Computer Science in 1994. She went on to obtain her doctorate in Robotics in 2000 from Laboratoire d’Analyse et d’Architecture de Systèmes – LAAS/CNRS, France. Sylvia has been an integral part of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande since 1992, where she currently serves as the Vice-director of the Center of Computational Science – C3. She is also a CNPQ “Productivity in Technological Development” Fellow, actively engaged in research and teaching in various graduate programs. Sylvia leads the NAUTEC – Intelligent Robotic and Automation Group, where she focuses on developing intelligent robotic and automation systems
