Shobhit S. is Lead for Research and Policy Engagement at IT for Change, a Bengaluru-based organization in special consultative status with the United Nations ECOSOC. His research examines the political economy of digitalization, with a particular focus on labor in the digital economy, platform work, and data and AI governance. His work explores how cross-border digital infrastructures reproduce global inequalities while shaping labor relations, and how democratic alternatives can advance economic justice. Shobhit has written extensively on platform labor, workers’ rights, and governance in the digital economy, including contributions to debates surrounding the International Labour Organization’s emerging standards for platform work. He is committed to building equitable, democratic digital futures through research, advocacy, and policy engagement.
