Sheryll Durrant is a dynamic and accomplished urban farmer, educator, and food justice advocate. With over five years of experience as the Resident Garden Manager at Kelly School Garden, and as the Food and Nutrition Coordinator for New Roots Community Farm, managed by the International Rescue Committee (IRC), Sheryll has been instrumental in developing community-based urban agriculture projects that have empowered countless individuals and communities.

Sheryll’s passion for urban agriculture and food justice is evident in her work, which includes providing expertise and technical assistance for gardens within supportive housing developments. She has also led workshops and spoken on issues related to urban agriculture and food justice for many key organizations, and has been recognized as a thought leader in this space.

Sheryll’s contributions to the urban agriculture community extend beyond her work as a practitioner. As a former Design Trust fellow for the Farming Concrete project, Sheryll is now responsible for communications and outreach for this data collection platform that helps urban farmers and gardeners measure the impact of their work. Her expertise in both urban agriculture and marketing have made her an invaluable asset to this initiative.

Prior to her work in urban agriculture, Sheryll had a successful career in corporate and institutional marketing, with over 20 years of experience. Her unique combination of skills and expertise has allowed her to make a significant impact in the field of urban agriculture and food justice.
