Bio

Sedica Davids specializes in Africa-centered feminist development approaches in both the public and private sectors in South Africa. She also increasingly partners with civil society throughout the Global South, sharpening her expertise in AI and human rights.

Her background in adult education is paired with business development. Her contributions include developing national mechanisms for LGBTIQ+ rights at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development, and supporting product development by emerging crafters in Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. She also managed the FIFA Press Tent and provides ongoing mentoring and leadership development for LBQ youth across Africa.

Working closely with marginalized groups, Sedica believes in economic empowerment through a cooperative model. This led to her seven-year commitment to worker-led digital platforms, such as We Care, where she started as a fundraiser, then became a researcher, and in 2024 served as a business developer. In that role, she oversaw the handover of key business assets to the workers.

Sedica has nurtured various collectives and remains a lifelong learner, actively engaged in research and development.
