I’ll analyze platform cooperativism through the lens of design justice. Design justice is an approach (and growing network) that emphasizes equitable distribution of design risks and benefits; fair and meaningful participation in design decisions; and recognition of community based design practices.
Sasha Costanza-Chock (pronouns: they/them or she/her) is Associate Professor of Civic Media at MIT, Faculty Associate at Harvard’s Berkman-Klein Center for Internet & Society, and creator of the MIT Codesign Studio (codesign.mit.edu). They work on social movements and design justice.
