Bio

Patrick Feuerstein is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB), a principal investigator for Fairwork Germany, and director of Fairwork Ltd. Previously, he served as a lecturer, research associate, and acting professor of sociology at the University of Göttingen, focusing on digitalization in the workplace and the sociology of work, organizations, and the economy. He is a member of the university’s Sociological Research Institute (SOFI). Feuerstein earned his PhD in sociology from the University of Göttingen, where his dissertation examined how IT offshoring affected software developers’ working conditions in Germany and India. His research explores collaborative and open innovation in the IT industry and workers’ living and working conditions across global automotive and chocolate production networks.
