Bio

Dr Paolo Gerli is a Lecturer in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Deputy Director of the Urban Innovation Policy (Unity) Lab at Edinburgh Napier University. His research investigates the governance of digital transformations, focusing on grassroots approaches to promote inclusive smart places and fairer digital transitions. His work has been published in several academic journals, including Government Information Quarterly and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. He has also co-authored and contributed to policy reports for the UN-Habitat, the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. He received his Ph.D. from Northumbria University in 2020. Before that, he worked as a policy analyst and consultant in the Italian ICT sector.
