Bio
My-Phuong Nguyen-Hoang (Phuong) is a PhD student in Development, Innovation and Sustainability at the Asian Institute of Technology, with nearly ten years of experience working with agricultural cooperatives in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. Her work combines field-based research, training, and policy engagement on cooperative development, climate resilience, and digital transformation. She is particularly interested in how cooperatives can function as governance institutions for climate risk and agrarian digital transitions, including questions of farmer data rights, traceability, low-emission agriculture, and commons-based approaches to data governance. Her current research explores cooperative data commons as a possible institutional model for enabling farmers to collectively govern, negotiate, and benefit from the data increasingly generated through digital agriculture.
