Midnight Poonkasetwattana has been Executive Director of APCOM since 2011, working through multi-sectoral partnerships with governments, donors, the United Nations, and community and civil society organizations to advance SOGIESC rights and address HIV across Asia and the Pacific. Raised in Thailand’s Isaan region, he studied Development Studies at the University of East Anglia and holds a master’s in Globalisation and Development from SOAS, University of London. He sits on advisory bodies including the global IDAHOT committee, the Dignity Network international advisory group, and the World Health Organization’s Global PrEP Coalition. In 2016 he delivered the closing plenary statement at the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Meeting on Ending AIDS, and in 2019 he was named an Obama Foundation Leader for Asia-Pacific.
