Bio
Mark Esposito is a professor of technology policy at Northeastern University, where he also serves as Faculty Fellow at The Center for Emerging Markets and Research Scientist for the Global Resilience Institute. An economist conducting tech policy clinics worldwide, he serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Alliance and Fostering Converging Technologies group. He remains a faculty associate at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society and Harvard Kennedy School’s Center for International Development and a social scientist for the Harvard Institute for Quantitative Social Science. In his past roles, he co-led the Institutes Council on Microeconomics of Competitiveness at Harvard Business School and was founding director of the Circular Economy Research Center at University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School. He is also active in the industry where he serves as chief economist at micro1, a Silicon Valley AI lab and as co-founder of Nexus FrontierTech, an AI data company.
As a 2025/2026 Fellow at the Institute for the Cooperative Digital Economy (ICDE), Mark explored the role of blockchain technology and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) in improving governance and decision-making for digital commons, emphasizing transparency, accountability, and equitable participation. He holds a PhD in Economics from École des Ponts ParisTech in France, the world’s oldest civil engineering school.
