I will co-present on Up & Go, an online platform for booking home services from worker-owned businesses. With Up & Go partners, I will share learnings about developing an immigrant worker-owned led, multi-stakeholder platform, and how platforms can help scale immigrant cooperatives, particularly in domestic work sectors.
Maribel Torres is a founding member of the co-op Brightly Cleaning of Staten Island. Brightly is a founding member of Up & Go, a web app for booking home services from NYC co-ops. Maribel serves as Brightly’s representative in Up & Go. As a worker-owner, she aims to motivate others in the Latinx community to rise up and achieve their goals.
