Marcel is a software analyst at Coopersystem, a Brazilian tech cooperative of some 120 developers. He is part of Coopersystem’s Innovation Board, which is researching and modeling new business models– from artificial intelligence chatbots and company automation to financial services. Coopersystem is deeply enmeshed in the Brazilian startup scene. They are interested in learning how to bring together the scaling ability of the sharing economy with the humanizing economy of cooperatives. One of their initiatives is Tiva, a platform for cooperatives that offer housekeeping, repair and cleaning services. Coopersystem is currently working with various cooperatives that employ former prisoners that have a hard time finding employment. Through the platform, Coopersystem aims to bring economic stability to them and their families.
