Bio

Lok Yung is an organizer currently working at the Hong Kong Women Workers’ Association, where she focuses on uniting and organizing grass-roots non-paid domestic housewives and low-income casual women workers. As an organizer, she coordinates two women’s cooperatives, including the “Solidarity Upcycling SEW CRAFT Cooperatives” and the “Cooperative Team of Eco-cleaning Aunties”. Lok Yung upholds a belief in exploring alternative solutions to address women’s economic needs and restore their dignity.

Outside of work, Lok Yung continues to be concerned with the intersectional problems of labor, gender, and migration. She pursued numerous volunteer opportunities and community leadership roles. She participated in the publication of “Oral History of Male Sex Workers in Hong Kong”.
