Bio

Karin Hansson (khansson@dsv.su.se), Ph.Lic., artist, curator and PhD student at The Royal Institute of Arts in Stockholm and at the Department of Computer & System Science, Stockholm University. Her research focus is artistic methodologies and online participatory processes. In her thesis work she has looked at how identity and community is materialized and performed, on web pages, on blogs and in social forums. With this in mind she has developed a prototype for a collaborative system that combines analysis of structure and representation with a deliberative tool support. The purpose is to address inequality and digital differentiation and support discursive processes. This research has been conducted in the context of two urban planning projects and in collaboration with the Department of Urban Planning and the Environment, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm.
