Bio

Jill Dimond is a founding worker-owner of Sassafras Tech Collective, a worker-owned tech consultancy based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has over 15 years of experience in tech holding diverse roles such as a designer, researcher, developer, and product manager. She holds a PhD in Human Centered Computing from Georgia Tech, and a computer science in engineering degree from the University of Michigan. She has published many scholarly works in the field of social computing and has been awarded numerous grants from the NSF, NIH, and the Knight Foundation. Her tech work in anti-harassment movements on the street and online has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, BBC, and others. She is also a facilitator with training from cooperative and justice movements. Because she just can’t get enough of consensus in her life, she lives at Touchstone Cohousing in Ann Arbor with her partner and four year old kid.
