Jeremias Meyer is a PhD student at the Research Institute for Cooperation and Cooperatives at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Vienna). His research focuses on organizational democracy, deliberation, and social sustainability in cooperatives, with particular attention to the design of democratic participation processes. Trained as an industrial engineer at the Vienna University of Technology and educated in musicology at the University of Vienna, he brings an interdisciplinary perspective that integrates technical, economic, and cultural analysis. Before joining WU Vienna, he conducted research on greenhouse gas accounting and sustainability reporting frameworks at the Vienna University of Technology.
As part of his 2026–2027 ICDE Fellowship, he will conduct virtual participation workshops in five large Austrian cooperatives to examine how technology-supported member engagement and LLM-generated summaries affect governance processes and relationships between members and cooperative boards
