Bio

Jack Sim is a Singaporean social entrepreneur and founder of the World Toilet Organization, which he established in 2001 to bring sanitation and toilets into public debate. Widely known as “Mr. Toilet,” he has helped build a global movement connecting governments, UN agencies, civil society, businesses, and activists around access to sanitation. World Toilet Organization declared 19 November World Toilet Day in 2001; in 2013, the United Nations officially recognized the date. Before entering social entrepreneurship, Sim spent more than two decades in business and became financially independent by age 40. His work combines humor, advocacy, institution-building, and practical sanitation initiatives. He has been recognized by Time, the Asian Development Bank, the Schwab Foundation, and other organizations for his leadership.
