Bio
Ferit Serkan Öngel is an Associate Professor of Social Policy in the Department of Public Administration at Gaziantep University. He earned his PhD in Urban Planning from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, following a BA in Statistics and an MA in Communication Sciences. His research spans urbanization, migration, industrialization, class dynamics, labor organization, economic geography, and occupational health and safety. More recently, he has explored issues of gender equality, refugee integration, digitalization, and cooperatives. Beyond academia, Öngel has served as a researcher and advisor to labor unions and international organizations, including the ILO and GIZ, and has published extensively in journals, edited volumes, and national research projects.
