Bio

Enkhtsolmon Batchuluun is a Mongolian researcher who grew up in China and graduated from Tsinghua University. Her interest in language justice began with a personal observation: the digital world does not make room for every language equally, and Mongolian is often left behind. At Tsinghua, she led a research project on AI-assisted Chinese academic writing, drawing on over 100 survey responses and 16 in-depth interviews. Her work asks who gets to decide how a community’s language and knowledge are used, and who benefits. Drawing on the Mongolian khot ail, a traditional herding community built around cooperation, she explores how communities might have a greater say in the ownership and governance of their language data.
