Bio

Emily Barnett is a painter and printmaker and a Part-Time Assistant Teaching Professor at The New School. She serves as President of ACT-UAW Local 7902, representing Part-Time Faculty at The New School and Adjuncts at NYU. She received the National Association of Women Artists Medal of Honor, and major awards from The Heckscher Museum, The National Academy of Design, West Publishing Company, The City of Seattle, and a New York Foundation for the Arts Stipend. Barnett has exhibited in the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, Islip Art Museum, Wave Hill Gallery, the Parrish Art Museum, and the New York Society of Etchers. Barnett’s current work includes prints, paintings, collages and drawings that create a playful dialogue through imagery derived from nature and science.
