Dr. Dan McQuillan is a Senior Lecturer in Critical AI at Goldsmiths, University of London, and author of Resisting AI: An Anti-fascist Approach to Artificial Intelligence (Bristol University Press). With a background in experimental particle physics, Dan has worked at the intersection of technology, social justice, and community organizing—from building websites with asylum seekers to leading citizen science and digital inclusion projects across Europe and Central Asia. His research critiques the social harms of AI and advances anti-fascist, justice-oriented approaches to computing. Dan teaches Ethical Computing, Critical AI, and Social Media at Goldsmiths and has contributed to UK policy debates, including testimony to the House of Lords Inquiry on large language models.
