Martijn is an international expert and thinker in the field of the platform economy. Since 2012 Martijn has been traveling the world talking with more than 600 stakeholders in 16 countries behind the emerging platform economy. As a bridge builder and independent professional outsider, he uses these insights and this network to bring stakeholders like trade unions, government institutions, platforms, and academics together to address relevant issues in a constructive way.

Martijn is part of the gig team of the Wageindicator Foundation and the Platform Economy research group at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. He is the founder of GigCV, a data sharing standard that enables gig workers to download their own reputation and transaction data in a digital CV.
