Bio
Wararat “Crystal” Choyrum (she/they) is a Thai transgender student at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang in Bangkok, studying Computer Engineering. She is an active member of and advocate for the open source movement and community. She also works as part of TechTransThai, an organization within Thailand’s open source community centered around community efforts to improve FOSS. She primarily works on bringing Thai localizations to cornerstone open source projects, such as KDE and others, through the App Localization project under TechTransThai. Her goal is to improve the discoverability of open source projects in Thailand by making them more approachable to the general population.
While she is just a lowly undergraduate student, she also has interests in mathematics, physics, astronomy, and linguistics. She also claims to be “the goat,” a claim which has been backed up by big names in the TechTransThai organization.
