Bio

Narongthat (Ming) Thanyawet, Ph.D. is a Faculty Member at the Chulalongkorn School
of Integrated Innovation (CSII), where he teaches Statistics and Deep Learning for
Business. He is also Chief AI Officer at RealSmart PCL and CEO and CTO of Kuro
Haeksagon, an IT solutions firm that builds AI, data platforms, and customized ERP
systems for SMEs.

His expertise covers computer vision, large language models (LLMs), natural language
processing (NLP), and the software development life cycle (SDLC), with applied work in
water resources and disaster management. Across healthcare, banking, energy,
agriculture, and the public sector, he focuses on practical, narrow AI that serves people
often overlooked by large technology providers. Recent projects include a rice supply
chain intelligence platform, Thai-language AI document processing for welfare services
at the Government Savings Bank, and fraud analytics to protect citizens from online
scams.

A graduate of Osaka University, Ming connects Thai, Japanese, and wider Asian
research networks. He is interested in how universities, SMEs, and local communities in
Southeast Asia can build, own, and govern AI themselves rather than simply adopt tools
designed elsewhere.
