Bio
Mahima Taneja is a researcher with more than 12 years of experience in gender and development. Her work spans women’s livelihoods, urban policy, WASH, adolescent health, and, more recently, digital labor. She currently leads the Gender x Digital (GxD) hub at IFMR, where she builds evidence on women’s participation in the digital and AI economy and advises partners on gender-intentional program design and evaluation. Previously, she worked with the Gates Foundation and Sambodhi. Taneja holds an M.A., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Political Science, with a focus on Gender Studies, from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her doctoral research examined women’s access to urban public spaces and the politics of belonging in Indian cities. (she/her)
