An engineer by education, Abhineet Nayyar is a Senior Research and Policy Associate at IT for Change, with expertise in multi-modal research and analysis, policy engagement, and advocacy. His previous work in media and consulting, government strategy and advisory, and public interest research spans the political economy of the modern internet — most pertinently, digital antitrust, the knowledge commons, and collective control and governance of the AI stack. His ongoing research investigates the role of common techno-legal standards in steering the global arc of AI innovation toward more open and democratic ways of existing.
