Sonakshi’s work seeks to improve workers’ rights in the digital economy. Understanding unionization within digital work, analyzing labor law and policy, and tracking platformization and digitalization trends in traditional and new forms of labor are current themes she is working on. She has previously worked with collectives of women workers in the garment and agriculture supply chains. Emerging experiments in worker-owned and user-owned digital platforms, and collectivization efforts among tech workers, are her other research interests.
