Bio

Santosh Kumar is 37 years old, and grew up in India where he read law and developed interest in International law and Third World Approaches to International Law (TWAIL). He continued his legal education in Torino (Italy) and participated in the Summer School on Public and Private International Law offered by the Hague Academy of International Law. He currently works on the promotion and advancement of cooperative-legislation at the international level after spending a decade working to advance the cooperatives in Asia and Pacific. His research interests include the history of the International Cooperative Alliance, Intangible-Cultural-Heritage and cooperatives, UN and cooperatives, and the 7th Cooperative Principle on Concern for Community. Santosh is joining the ICDE fellowship to explore international membership of persons in cooperatives in the so-called global south with the aim to advance the creation of international platform cooperatives which are rooted in the promotion of the 7th cooperative Principle.
