Prashant Mehra is the CEO and co-founder of Platform Commons. An alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, he is recognized for pioneering digital platforms as common assets, exemplified by the Commons Platform in agriculture, education, and civic engagement.
Prashant’s driving force is Digital Commons Licenses, ensuring software serves communities effectively. He focuses on uplifting smallholder farmer income, fostering collectivization, and promoting regenerative agriculture, community-owned supply chains, and co-creating solutions with grassroots communities.
He has also helped build large-scale platforms including the world’s first goods and professional service marketplaces, a multi-tenanted interoperable platform for the airline sector, and an open-source identity solution used in 11 countries.
