Nerima Wako-Ojiwa is the Executive Director of Siasa Place, a Kenyan youth organization established in 2015 to facilitate meaningful political engagement among young people. The organization educates youth on electoral processes, the constitution, and government functions, impacting over 8,000 youths across 13 counties and generating 131 million online impressions through 180 campaigns. Nerima earned a BA in Journalism and Sociology from Jacksonville State University in 2010 and a Master’s in Public Administration in 2012. She serves as the Vice Chairperson of the Youth Coordinating Committee at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission and Convener of Youth Serving Organizations Kenya. Nerima is also a former columnist for ‘The East African’ and a 2018 Obama Leaders Fellow.
