Dr. Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno is the Principal Secretary for Environment and Climate Change in Kenya’s Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry. He oversees international climate agreements, including UNFCCC and UNCBD. He has led significant policy advancements, such as the Climate Change Act 2016 and carbon markets development. Holding a Ph.D. and MSc in Environmental and Biosystems Engineering from the University of Nairobi, he mobilized over KSh 50 billion from global institutions to support climate action. Dr. Ng’eno also chairs various environmental initiatives and enjoys gospel music, sports, and reading in his free time.
