Ünal Örnek is an agricultural engineer, journalist, and coordinator of the Central Union of Turkish Forestry Cooperatives (ORKOOP). Since assuming his role at ORKOOP, he has led strategic planning, policy formulation, and training programs to strengthen rural cooperative development in Turkey. Mr. Örnek also supervises foreign relations and research activities, aiming to connect Turkish forestry co-ops with global standards. In addition to his work in the field, he contributes to cooperative advocacy through writing and media. He has served on the Board of Cooperatives Europe since 2017, helping shape cooperative policy across the continent. His leadership emphasizes empowerment, resilience, and participation in cooperative governance.
