Bio

Tianlong Mu is a designer and researcher exploring the intersections of AI, cultural memory, and embodied interaction. He is pursuing a Master’s in Interaction Design at Umeå Institute of Design in Sweden and holds a background in architecture from the UK. His recent project, Chinese Poetic Cinema, uses generative AI and gesture-based interaction to reimagine classical Chinese poetry as a participatory experience. Tianlong’s work investigates how culturally grounded design can move technology away from extractive models toward shared authorship and public learning. Shaped by experiences in China, the UK, and Scandinavia, his practice bridges spatial storytelling, digital craft, and cooperative approaches to design.
