Bio
Oktay Kargül is an urban planner and manager with expertise in urban design, conservation, and strategic planning. He completed his undergraduate degree in City and Regional Planning and his master’s in Urban Design at Istanbul Technical University. Over his career, he has worked in planning offices, academia, and local governments, contributing to major projects such as the Küçükyalı Archaeopark Management Plan and various urban design and vision plans. He also served in leadership roles within the Chamber of City Planners and contributed to national and international urbanism events and publications. Since 2020, he has been leading the Istanbul Planning Agency, where he currently serves as General Manager.
