Bio

Kriangsak is the founder and Managing Director of Just Economy and Labor Institute (JELI), a Bangkok-based organization working to foster solidarity, autonomy, and movements for economic justice. He is a trained economist, labor geographer, and facilitator for social change, with a decade of experience promoting human rights and grassroots movements in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Since 2017, Kriangsak has led JELI’s innovative programs, which use research as a tool for capacity-building and movement-building with workers. JELI’s partners include the Asia Pacific Women, Law and Development (APWLD) and Dignity Returns, one of the first worker-owned cooperatives in Bangkok. JELI is currently building on its research on platform-based work and worker-owned initiatives to support the development of a movement for solidarity economy in Thailand.
